Wisdom for Good Physical Health

August 27, 2018 By Dale Fletcher Leave a Comment

On most mornings I start my day off reading a few devotionals and the various scriptures related to them. One of my longtime favorites is In Touch, the devotional by InTouch Ministries. Dr. Charles Stanley and his team of writers are especially anointed in sharing the truth of the Bible in their daily devotionals.

Today’s devotional is titled Wisdom for Good Health. It is directly in line with my beliefs and the basis for my ministry. Dr. Stanley address the importance of having proper motivation to be physically healthy and the importance of practicing discipline though our health-related routines or habits.

Stanley mentions that we have a responsibility to care for our physical health as our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) If we are physically healthy, we will be able to better serve God and others when He calls us to.

‘Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.’ 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Although sometimes it is God’s will for us to have a sickness or disease, we can do our part to be healthy by engaging in healthy behaviors.

“Our calling as God’s children is best fulfilled when we seek physical as well as spiritual vitality.” Charles Stanley

Do you have the proper motivation and discipline to be physically healthy?
