A Nonprofit Ministry
Faith and Health Connection is a nonprofit health ministry registered in the state of South Carolina.
Mission and Vision
To teach people how to apply Biblical truths and principles, and results of medical research, to achieve whole person health. Through this, many people will grow in their faith and others will begin to experience the love of God in a very personal way. Improved whole person health will better enable people to use their God-given talents to make a difference in our world.
In this, God will be glorified and better known.
Investment Opportunity
We invite you to invest in our work to help transform lives by making a donation. Your financial support will help make our initiatives more affordable and assist us in expanding the ministry.
Research and Evaluation Opportunity
We are actively seeking opportunities to partner with academic institutions or research-oriented individuals/organizations to conduct an evaluation of our PathWay 2 Wholeness Bible Study, a unique faith-based health education initiative.
We believe this Bible study merits recognition as an evidence-based intervention that changes unhealthy behavior and improves health status including obesity, diabetes, blood pressure and other key outcomes. If interested, please contact Dale Fletcher though the Contact Page.
Our Beliefs and the Basis for This Ministry
We believe that life is lived most abundantly when we are in a meaningful relationship with God, through his son Jesus Christ and empowered by the power of the Holy Spirit.
There is one true God. Genesis 1:1
We are created as a masterpiece by God and in his image so that we can do the good things He planned for us long ago and bring him glory. Genesis 1:27 and Ephesians 2:10
God created man with a spirit, soul and body. (see the page How God Designed Us) 1 Thessalonians 5:23
Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. That sin was passed down to us, giving us all a sinful nature at natural birth and a dead spirit. Genesis 3:1-13, Romans 5:12
We try to cope with the stressors of life and to meet our basic needs of love, self worth, acceptance, security and identity by our own resources and apart from God in ways that are unhealthy and sinful. These self-sufficient attitudes, thinking patterns and behaviors often become habits that have a negative impact on our emotional, spiritual and physical health. Galatians 5:19-21
God loves us. 1 John 4:16
Because God loves us, He sent Jesus to live on the earth to teach others about God and His love and then to die for us. John 3:16, Romans 5:8 (Read about who we believe Jesus is in our Statement of Faith.)
Satan, the enemy, exists to destroy our lives. Jesus lived and died for us so that we might have a full, abundant and eternal life. John 10:10
When we accept that God loves us and we believe in Jesus and that He died for our sins, God sends His Spirit, in the form of the Holy Spirit, to live in us. Ephesians 1:13
When Christ begins to live in us, we become a new person.
2 Corinthians 5:17
God inspired the disciples of Jesus and other people who believe in Him to write the books of the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16
The Bible was written so that we might learn about God and His love and so that we would have guidelines on how to live the full life that He wants us to live. 2 Timothy 3:16
The Bible is truth. John 17:17
Jesus came to set us free from the self-sufficient and sinful nature that hold us captive and in bondage. Luke 4:18-19, Romans 6:6
Knowing Jesus and the truth of the Bible can set us free from our sinful nature and unhealthy attitudes, manner of thinking and habits that we have developed to meet our needs apart from God. John 8:32
People who are not well or whole, emotionally or spiritually, need the Great Physician, Jesus.
Matthew 9:10-12
When we believe in God and Jesus and, out of love for God, follow the principles of the Bible, our life is more complete – more full. As we grow in our love for God and for ourselves, we will desire to take better care for our body as He asks us to. 1 Corinthians 6:19
Jesus desires us to stay closely connected to Him, to abide in Him, so that our life will be meaningful and result in good things or ‘fruit.’ John 15:1-5
As we stay close to Jesus and the Spirit of God is alive in us we can be rewarded with love, joy, peace, kindness, self control and other such ‘fruits.’ Galatians 5:22-23
God enables us, with special strength and power through his Holy Spirit, to make healthy choices and to live according to His principles. Romans 8:13, 2 Corinthians 3:5-6
The more we believe in and live according to God’s principles the more likely we will have better emotional and physical health. The better our health the more full our life will be and the more we will be able to use the special gifts God has given us to do what He put us on earth to do.
As we live a life filled with God’s Spirit and using the gifts He has given us to serve others, it pleases God and He is glorified. Philippians 2:13, 1 Peter 4:11 and 1 Corinthians 10:31
We Teach These Truths
We teach the biblical truths above in our Faith and Health Ambassador Course, our PathWay 2 Wholeness Bible Study, and our Understanding the Faith and Health Link Workshop.
