You were wired to be connected to and in a relationship with God.
Research has shown that a prayer of 12 minutes or more will cause physical changes in the brain.
I imagine that this is why God instructs us to ‘pray without ceasing.’ See 1 Thessalonians 5:17
And there is another verse in the Bible that tells us that you can be transformed – changed for good – by the renewing of your mind. See Romans 12:2
Jesus instructs us to pray like this:
Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. Matthew 6:9-13
