When was the last time you jumped for joy?
Today is one of those days for me. It’s a beautiful 70+ degree day here in Charlotte, the sun is shining, birds are chirping and I’m outside doing ministry and enjoying this glorious day in God’s nature.
One of the key biblical principles or Spiritual Exercises that I write and speak about is ‘Being Thankful to God’. His Word tells us that we’re to express our thanks for what He’s done in our life and for who He is.
“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1
The more we’ve experienced the love of God and understand who He is, the more we ought to naturally praise and thank him.
On a day like today, as Spring seems so ever close after a long, cold winter it’s easy to be thankful. But, even when life is not going so well, God desires that we be thankful to him – just because. He is God, after all, and so He deserves our thanks all the time.
I hope that you have taken time today to say “Thank you God, for who you are and what you do in my life.” If you haven’t perhaps you’ll lift up a thanks to him now.
Have a great weekend!
