Use of a Spiritual Fitness Assessment
Dale Fletcher used results of research in the faith and health arena to develop a 40- item questionnaire that assesses 18 spiritual beliefs, attitudes and practices (Spiritual Exercises) that may have an impact on one’s emotional and physical health.
This assessment can be used to compliment the physical fitness assessment that your branch uses for your members. Your wellness coaches can integrate a more complete spirit-mind-body approach by using this assessment and inviting their members to incorporate ‘spiritual exercises‘ to achieve whole person health. Use it as a “door opener” to talk about how faith might impact on a person’s health. Inquire about a corresponding booklet that addresses these spiritual exercises. The assessment can also be used as a staff training tool in a workshop. Permission to reprint and use the assessment can be purchased on the Products for Purchase Page.
