1 Colossians 16 – 17 says, “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”laminin

Laminin and Jesus

This past weekend the pastor at church mentioned the protein laminin in his sermon. He urged us to go home and read about it. I’ve taken a little time to do that. Here’s what I learned.

Laminin is a cell adhesion molecule. It’s the stuff that holds the membranes of our bodies together. Read about it on Wikipedia. A diagram of its’ structure is to the right. Isn’t it something that the shape of the “glue” that holds us together is in the form of a cross? Yes, as Psalm 139:14 says, we are fearfully and wonderfully made. And we do have such an awesome God that is in ALL the details of our life. Such details as shaping the glue that holds us together in the form of a cross.

Jesus died a horrible death on a cross to set us free from sin and to give us an eternal life. He also died to give us an abundant life here on this earth. As we know him more and more deep in our hearts he can set us free from addictions, pain and all the stuff that keeps us in chains. And He wants to be the ‘glue’ that keeps us together on the inside and makes us a whole person.

Follow this link to a moving video by Louie Giglio about God’s love, Jesus and laminin.

Jesus wants to hold us all together like glue. I hope you know Him and have experienced His love. If you have questions about the Christian faith or want to know more about Jesus and His love, I hope you’ll contact me.

This is awesome, the way that science and religion can actually be linked. This should really put to rest a lot of disbelief. God is great!!!

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow! This and so much more that I have found as supported by science just strengthens my faith more, and more, and more in my lord Jesus Christ and in my Father and Creator. God is totally awesome. Those who do not believe that there is a God who created all of this – Satan has blinded them or they just do not want to believe. Here are some other facts in Genesis Chapter 1:14-19 – “God divided darkness and light.” In 1980 or 1981 or 1982, the Detroit News or Free Press had an article about the University of Ohio. They did an experiment with sound to see if sound could split darkness into light. Wow! They were successful. They said it (sound )was extremely loud and did split darkness into light proving this scripture is true. I could share more like Noah’s Flood. We have an awesome God. Praise God!

Really Ron? That sounds made-up to me. Please provide some links. Light cannot be “split” from darkness by sound. Darkness is just the absense of light particles called photons. How could sound make something appear out of nothing? I thought only a god could do that.

Also, you really should be praising Zeus because of Laminin. It bears much more resemblance to the Caduceus (the symbol of Iris and Hermes) than it does to a crucifix.

Not to demean you, but you have a faulty understanding of what facts and proof are. Even if scientists magically turned sound (longitudinal waves) into light (transverse waves), it would not prove anything about the validity of something written in a book thousands of years ago.

…And please tell me how Noah got all the animals from other continents to swim across the oceans so they could jump on the ark.

No, I’m not blinded by the devil either, because he also was invented by humans.

As a Christian and a person involved in the deep sciences, there can be many contradictions at times and dealing with non-believers makes it only tougher. I like the link between science and faith that has been made in this article. Every great designer leaves his mark :) ….
