Lots of parallels - proper technique (refer to God's Book on tying spiritual knots for instruction), practice makes better (well, I couldn't say "perfect" in this example), and then enjoy the results (reeling in the rewards of a solid connection - sanctification, peace, joy, etc.- lots of different species but all good). I often tell my wife that God's choice of fisherman as his first disciples, the fish as a sign of Christianity, fish and the loaves, enjoying a fish meal on the shore, etc. are no coincidence in scripture Steve I like the imagery of tying the knot of the tippet to that of connecting with God.
